Holiday 2014: DIY Advent Calendar with Freckled Fawn Very Merry Embellishment Kit

We jumped at the chance to create a project using Freckled Fawn‘s new Very Merry Embellishment Kit! Thanks to Freckled Fawn we received the kit in late October and have been dreaming up ways to use their products every since.
The Very Merry Embellishment Kit contains:
+ A set of two thin washi tapes
+ A sheet of chipboard stickers
+ A package of large wood chip numbers (1-31)
+ A set of silver paper clips
+ A package of cork shapes
+ A sheet of tiny rhinestone stars
+ A sheet of epoxy stickers
+ A sheet of gold foil label stickers
+ A package of glitter metal snowflake stickers
+ A gold glitter bow
+ A set of resin presents
+ A gold star zipper pouch
The kit retails for $34.99 and is perfect for the holidays! It’s a great gift for scrapbookers, crafters and holiday decorators. The wooden numbers were perfect for making a spectacular advent calendar.
To make our DIY advent calendar, you’ll need:
+ wooden tray with 24 compartments (we found ours at Michael’s for under $15)
+ scrap book paper (we used 4 different colors/patterns)
+ Freckled Fawn Very Merry Embellishment Kit
Simply paint or stain your wooden compartment tray, cut paper squares to fit the bottom of the tray (ours were 2 7/8″ square), decoupage squares to tray and add/glue embellishments to taste. We painted our numbers with Martha Stewart gold acrylic paint and added a little gold mica powder to each square for a little holiday sparkle.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
