Julie’s Picks: I’m a Manatee Happy to be ME! Book

February 3, 2012 by The Gifting Experts

We fell in love the I’m a Manatee Happy to be ME! book by Leslie Campa. What a fantastic gift for a child. I’m a Manatee Happy to be ME! promotes being happy with who you are. The book includes fun illustrations and a small Q& A section that your child can fill in themselves. Leslie also donates a portion of the proceeds to benefit research, education and rescue programs for our manatees of the sea… We’re already looking forward to her next book!

I purchased this book for my daughter and she loves it and wants me to read it with her every night.
What a brilliant way to teach facts with whimsical fun. We also saw Leslie the author on Utube doing a story time with this book. Love it!

I bought a few copies of Leslie’s book, “I’m a Manatee Happy to be Me”, for some very special kids at Christmas time. The mothers of these kids tell me how much they love the story and the rhyming. They want it read over and over again. What a unique and wonderful cause to help out with. It’s nice to hear something a little different than “save the whales or polar bears”. Go Leslie!

My four year old loves this book. The best part is it’s a book that can be enjoyed by any age – early readers love it, my toddler loves, my 10 year old nephew loves it. Best of all, I love reading it, so I always make sure it’s at the top of the reading pile!

WOw! What a great book! One that celebrates individuality and builds confidence and educates about manatees! I can’t wait for the next book! I saw this book at Sea World Florida! I have bought 10 books and gave to all my friends with children and it was such a hit!

I have given “I AM A MANATEE, HAPPY TO BE ME” to all the children within my area of contact. They each have told me how much they love it. My grandchildren are especially impressed with that sweet Manatee.
    Thanks, Leslie
